Last October, FORTUNE’s annual “Most powerful women summit”, taking place in California, reunited all entrepreneurs from all over the world, as it did for twelve years now, celebrating their want for achievement and allowing them to share their thoughts on female leadership and their ideas on how to succeed in business.
Talking about power, here is a little something that is nowadays humoristically depicting women’s place in society, but which could have been taken seriously just a few decades ago, also reflecting how female thoughts and initiatives were considered foolishness:
Even if the situation evolved a great deal since the set of mind pictured in the above movie, clichés about independent, working women still hide in most people’s unconcious. Forbes magazine recently published the 10 worst stereotypes about powerful women, exemplifying their point with real-life testimonies of leading women who suffered multiple sarcastic remarks during their rise to leadership and who know by heart the depreciation strategies used by men (and sometimes even other women) towards self-sufficient and strong females.
